Glam, Mist and Glaze...

Here are my projects for Tattered Angels this month! To find out more about the products I used, check out the Tattered Angels blog.

On this layout I started out with gesso and then added Glimmer Mist and Chalkboard Glimmer Mist. I also dripped some pink Glimmer Glam on my background, and the ruler and the thickers were colored with Glam too. The die cuts were covered with Glimmer Glaze.

I also created a colourful mini album out of tags... and used lots of Glimmer Glam and Mist!

My last project this month was another small 10x10 cm canvas, using mostly Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Mist.

Something totally different...

Last week on Life Book, we had a class by Mystele. I loved it sooo much. I'm not ready to show you the whole page I made, but I'll give you a little sneak. ;) It turned out so totally different from what I've been drawing and painting so far and I loved the process of trying something new, of experimenting and learning... I really wish I had more time to paint, because I have so many ideas.

But with baby Tuva having an annoying cold, not much is getting done at all...  Fingers crossed that she is getting well really soon!

A bit busy...

School's off this week and we're all at home, Johan too. Unfortunately Alva had a fever Sun-Mon and now Tuva has a fever today. :P Sort of typical. At least it's not a very high fever so far, and I hope it stays that way. I've been doing a little creating... things that will show up here later on... :)

But today I've mostly been looking at these... longing to open them and play... They look so yummy, don't they?!

She didn't recognize me...

I got a hair cut today! I believe it's been a lot more than a year since the last time and I think I've had my hair in a pony tail or similar, every single day since Tuva was born.

When I came home, without the pony tail, with a much darker hair color and probably a strange smell too, this sweet little girl didn't recognize me! Or at least she felt that something was very strange and very wrong. She had just woken up after sleeping, her dad was holding her and she was just staring at me. I could see that she was wondering what this was, what was going on... And as I reached out to touch her she started crying...

Luckily, we sorted it out and she now knows that I'm her Mom again... :)

Cocoa Daisy March kit sneaks...

The March kit from Cocoa Daisy is called Pier 39 and it's super gorgeous!

Here's a sneak of the main kit:

And the add ons:

I really regret not getting the embellishment pack!!! So so beautiful...!

And the stamps... so so awesome!

There are some news regarding the stamp subscription:
To avoid duplicates, now our subscription includes the three stamps we offer in the shop each month, at a discounted rate. There is an exclusive stamp in the main scrapbooking kit only, it won’t be included in the Stamp Subscription so you won’t be getting doubles when you order both. You’ll get three stamps each month for $11.00 plus shipping and handling. This month’s stamps include a grunged up bullseye, a quatrefoil stamp, and an arrow set.

The blurry ones...

Sometimes I forget about the blurry ones... When you have 78 photos of a baby girl on a bed to look through and edit in a limited amount of time, it's so easy to forget about the blurry ones... But ooo, I'm happy I found this one! (And I'm realizing it doesn't even look very blurry at this size... ;)

She is 9 months today! She's got two teeth. She is rolling around on the floor. She makes a lot of funny sounds. She smiles a lot. We love her so much!

Another one with "By the numbers"

Here's another layout I made using the February kit from Cocoa Daisy. I love these photos... They were taken last spring, when I was spending about 5 weeks in the hospital, before Tuva was born. Johan and the kids came to visit me as often as possible, mostly every other or sometimes every third day. This was a Friday. They brought popcorn from home an they were watching a kids television show on my small TV, in my small room... Our normal Friday routine, but so very different... I love that Alva was wearing the sunglasses... =)

I loved the vellum in the patterned paper add on and used some of the Hambly rub ons that I adore, on top of the vellum.

The tickets are a border sticker from Crate... *love*

For my Swedish friends: Ikväll drar Cybercropen igång hos Scrapgalen! Ni hänger väl med?

Messy background

I've created this layout for Scrapgalen. I started out with collaging some papers to my cardstock, but they ended up being totally covered in the end. :) I used a couple of different stencils from Crafter's Workshop, gesso, acrylic paint, Studio Multi medium, and Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam and Glaze.

The photo was taken last spring when J and the kids visited the hospital, ten days before Tuva was born. :)

The circles were painted with Glimmer Glam and the buttons were colored with Glimmer Glaze.

By The Numbers

Here are a couple of the layouts I made with the February Cocoa Daisy kit. It's such a pleasure creating with these fabulous kits, month after month!

I used gesso and the Crafter's Workshop stencil to create my background and when the gesso was dry I stitched along the pattern, using my sewing machine and several different colours of thread.

Happy coloured threads... :) and a heart covered with glossy accents.

I made the paint splatters last, covering my photo to protect Tuva from the paint. :)

After using the stencil and the gesso for the layout above, I used the leftover gesso that remained on my stencil on this kraft background.

The metal number 4 was colored with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Chalkboard Glimmer Mist. I love how it turned out!

Cocoa Daisy International Reveal

Tonight is the first ever International Reveal over at Cocoa Daisy. I usually get my kit rather quickly (it takes about a week or one week and a half) but since it's sometimes a bit slower and since we have a whole bunch of different countries represented in our design team too, we decided to split things up to give us a bit more time to play with our kits and to showcase our layouts properly, at a second reveal.

Come and join us tonight at 3pm EST - 8pm UK - 9pm Sweden.

We have a couple of fun and new things to get your inspiration going! :)

Here is a little sneak of the layouts I made with the fabulous Feb kit...

On the cover...

I just found out that Tuva is on the cover of the March issue of Scrap365! How fun! :) And I hear that the lovely Nicky is in this issue too... yay! I can't wait until I have the magazine in my hands!

I am so happy about how the gel transfers I've used on my canvases lately turns out (and I really appreciate your sweet comments! Thank you so much!) and I'll try to describe what I've done in another post later on this week. There are so many different methods and I've made some "ok" transfers before, but it's never been this easy with any of the other mediums and methods I've used!

Öland...

Thank you so much for your comments about my painting yesterday! You really do make me so very happy! :)

Here is another canvas, but a tiny one this time (4x5 inches). I love this photo from our vacation 1,5 years ago. I also looove the fact that it's possible to do image transfers like this. :) I painted the canvas with gesso and acrylic paint and then added my transfer, which was made using an ink jet printed image and Golden Heavy Gel Matte. I was planning to add lots of more paint, but now I'm not sure anymore because I like this in all it's simplicity...

I love green...

Greenish and bluish colours are often my favourites and yesterday I was reaching for the green pencils... I started drawing this several months ago, and it's such a fab feeling that I'm not as afraid as before. It's a lot more fun to draw when it doesn't feel like every stroke with the pencil is a potential disaster. It's not the end of the world if this drawing is ruined. It is ok to play! :)

In my journal...

Adding some colour to the drawing I started while Alva was dancing last Sunday...  :)

With love...

I made this simple card for Scrapgalen, using simple Stories papers, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam, Chalkboard Glimmer Mist, Stickles, some book pages and Spellbinder's dies.

February Sketch Challenge at Cocoa Daisy

Check out the February Sketch Challenge over at Cocoa Daisy! You have until February 13 to play along and you can use any supplies you wish - you don't have to be a Cocoa Daisy subscriber.

Here is my layout - about Alva, playing with her colorful erasers. :) She made them beds out of toilet rolls and they are all kids at an orphanage. I just love her imagination.

I used the February kit for this layout. We've decided to have a separate reveal for the non-US part of our team and therefore the rest of the layouts I've made with this gorgeous kit will be revealed on the 14th.

Here is the sketch. To play along, just link your layout in the comments to the blog post. The winner will recieve a $10 voucher to the Cocoa Daisy store (a store that is growing, have you seen that we're adding masks, ink, stamps etc...?).

Also check out the blog to see how Lisa, Sharmaine and Mandy interpreted my sketch!

Hellooo... drawings and ramblings...

I'm still here! :) This week has been a bit crazy. Yesterday I spent my day at Scrapgalen's Crop and I had a wonderful time. It was the first time I spent that many hours away from Tuva and I believe it was really good for everyone to see that things worked out just fine. :) She did great with her Dad and it was really good for me to get out a bit on my own. She is 8,5 months old but I somehow think she's still newborn...  I'll probably believe she's a little baby until she's 35 or something like that... ;)

I didn't get much scrapping done though... and the hours just flew by until it was time to go home again. :)

Today's Sunday and Alva was dancing this morning. I took my journals and some Prismacolors with me again. I felt totally awkward getting my pencils out (again), but I decided to try to ignore those feelings and just go ahead.

This last one I started drawing another Sunday while Alva was dancing, and then I've added colour later on. I am starting to feel a bit more comfortable with adding colour and trying things, and the fear of ruining what I've done so far is slooowly getting less dominant. :) Here I used graphite and prismacolors, tombows and acrylic paint.

The neonatal unit

This is me and Tuva at the hospital, in the neonatal unit. It's the same room and the same nursing table as when Linus was born 8 years earlier... a pretty strange feeling. Many things were exactly the same, but lots of things had changed too. Our experiences with Linus helpt us when we ended up in this situation again, but everything we went through when losing Hugo made things so very difficult. Tuva was also doing worse than Linus, even if Linus was a lot tinier (he weighed 800 grams less). I am so happy to have her here now, healthy and fabulous. :) We love her so much.

I used the Cocoa Daisy January kit to create this layout, and some gesso, a Crafter's Workshop stencil, a couple pf cherry lynn designs dies, and some machine stitching.
