Guinea pigs...

We have a couple of new family members and I used the August kit from Cocoa Daisy to create a mini album about them. I love the textured cardstock and I added one of the August DITL cards and some watercolour to create the front page.

We first met them at the breeder's place...

...and not long after they moved into our house!

We're doing our best to bribe them with food, in order to win their hearts... :)

Do you have any Penpals?

Or perhaps you did have penpals as a child? I sure did! I think I was constantly writing a letter for a whole bunch of years. I had MANY penpals. Finding a new letter in the mailbox was soooo exciting.

Penpal is also the name of the August kit from Cocoa Daisy. It's a kit perfect for scrapping the big and small adventures of summer - like our journey earlier this summer. We travelled far, far up north in Sweden.

The views in the mountans were amazing, even when the weather was cloudy. I love this photo of the kids together.

We did go to the beach, but the weather wasn't exactly perfect for swimming. :) Instead the beach had the best stones for skipping stones. Linus was fab at it! I mostly used the DITL kit here. The cork shapes are lovely.

Also this one was made using the DITL kit. Tuva drinking the cold water running down the mountain. The paper with the mountains is from the patterned paper add on.

We also found some snow to play in. Such a strange feeling, in the middle of summer. I used the main kit plus the Simple Stories cardstock stickers sheet, from the BYOAO.

I also created this layout of Tuva blowing kisses... :) I love the exclusive paper designed by Arleigh so much (the one below the photo)!

Firefly... scrapping again...!

It's SUMMER...!!!! Lazy days, crazy days... :) It felt so good to have some time to scrap again after a little break. The July kit from Cocoa Daisy is called Firefly and it's jam-packed with happy colours that are perfect for summer layouts.

When Tuva had her birthday party, I took photos of all the kids and printed them so that they could scrap with a photo of them selves. This was the photo I took of Tuva - my happy and fabulous birthday girl.

The next one is from her actual birthday - five years old!

I also got some pocket page scrapping done, using the very pretty July DITL kit. Love the cards!

...and the right page...

Sunshine in Karlstad is the title of my next layout. I've been travelling to the University three times each semester for two years, and this was the LAST time...! It's been a lot of fun but also a lot of work and it feels so good to be done!

This is about how I want to get back to running... it's time to start moving again...!

...and finally... this patterned paper just had to be cut like this!

The kit is on sale for subscribers and becomes available for the general public tomorrow, on July 1.

Things Tuva says...

Created for the March Designer's challenge at Cocoa Daisy -  this is a layout about things Tuva says.
I used the March kit from Cocoa Daisy for my layout. If you want to play along you have until April 5th and you can use any supplies you like - it doesn't have to be a CD kit.

The journaling is one of Tuva's long monologues. Or, it’s kind of a dialogue, but I mostly say things like “wow”, “yes”, “ok”, “oh no” etc… and she talks and talks and talks… :)
It’s not really possible to translate, but I gave it a try. Perhaps it’s only funny to me.
“If you die you don’t start living again. Unless it’s a game/play. Sometimes when we are playing and someone dies, and then live again, we pretend that you turn into a lion or a tiger or another dangerous animal. I don’t like that because I can only say “wooooaaaa” and no other animal. I can’t sound like a bear, only a tiger or a lion.
The only thing I know about rabbits is that they leap and that they eat carrots.
The tiger family – I think the tiger family eat humans. Do they?
Do tiger families even exist? “

Fluttering by to say hi...

I've almost forgotten how to post to this blog. ;) But today it is happening - yay!

I think many of us have periods where we are crazy about a certain technique or supply or style etc...? The past few weeks I've been making nothing but cards. And being me, that's pretty strange. :) I went to a crop about a month ago and I was sooo inspired by the fabulous card makers there, and I guess that's why I've rediscovered the card making and also my Copics. It's been a looong time since I used them!

I also stumbled upon a challenge over at Tiddly Inks and wanted to give it a try. The colours made me think of some of the papers that I still have from my early days as a scrapbooker. Good thing I saved them for more than 10 years since I suddenly needed them today, right? =)

Colouring is difficult, but relaxing. I totally understand why adult colouring books are such a big hit. The cute digital stamp I used can be found at Tiddly Inks and is called "Fluttering by to say hi".

Perhaps I'll surprise myself by posting some of the other cards too... to this poor blog of mine...? :)

Pop Fizz

Yaaaay, some scrapping has been happening - and some pocket page scrapping too! I really enjoyed the February kit from Cocoa Daisy - Pop Fizz. Often when it's been a while since I've been scrapping, I find it really hard to get started. It's like I need to 'warm up' before I remember how to do it. But this time it felt so easy!

I haven't been taking a lot of photos and I decided to do just one page for each week, for weeks 2 and 3. My DITL goal isn't to cover every week during the year, but instead I love creating a page every now and then and I don't stress about it.

I added splatters of acrylic ink and mist to the "welcome to" card and the stickers are from the main kit.

The stamp set in the DITL kit includes this fab "a day in the life" stamp!

And here is week 3...

The tiny doilies in the DITL kit are so cute!

I combined the heart journaling spot from the DITL kit with the feather die cut from the main kit.

Some more stamping... the hearts are included in the DITL stamp set. The cute blue stars are from the BYOAO.

I mostly used the main kit for this layout, but the stamping was done using stamps from the DITL kit. I also used some gesso and mist to create the background.

We had snow, we build a snowman that kept us company for a few weeks, and then suddenly we had warmer weather and rain... I LOVE the "like" and the "dislike" stamps from the DITL kit and I used them direcly on my photos here.

I also made a couple of "thank you - tags", using the main kit and the DITL.

Have a wonderful weekend!
